Meetups, game nights, and local events hosted by members. Zemew lists them. We do not host, sponsor, or run the night. For PAX, CES, and other big shows, see Commercial Events.

Venue / Setup

Most home and hall setups run into the same problems: too many devices on one circuit, missing cables, and unlabeled hardware. For circuits, ceiling drops, switches, racks, and HVAC, see the Garage LAN guide.

Check-in and seats

  • Arrive during the window the host posted. Showing up early can be a problem if they are still setting up.
  • Sit where the host assigns you. Do not take an outlet someone else needs.
  • Keep bags and cases out of aisles.

Power

  • Hosts plan circuits for a set number of seats. Extra monitors and mini-fridges can overload them.
  • Do not daisy-chain power strips. Ask before you add one.
  • If a circuit trips, unplug gear and tell the host. Do not keep resetting the breaker yourself.

Network

  • Expect wired play. Bring your own Ethernet cable.
  • Wi-Fi, if available, is usually for phones, not large downloads.
  • Do not add your own access point, DHCP server, or switch without the host’s OK.

Hardware and food

  • Label gear you care about.
  • Follow the host’s food and drink rules.
  • Pack out trash and leave the table clean.

For a larger wired night, the Garage LAN guide covers electrical load, table layout, patch panels, and what worked for a 20-seat garage.
