The story behind the site

About Zemew

Guides, games, and community for builders and players.

Right now

What we do

Zemew is a home for people who like to build, play, and share what they learn. We publish practical guides, curate news on the Wire, list events and resources worth knowing about, and support indie work through ZemewStudios.

Most of the conversation happens on the forum. That is where we talk about LANs, hardware, games, projects, and ideas for what to add next.

How this page started

This page began as a simple reference in the Gamer Garage, so my kids and their friends could look up the WiFi SSID and password before a LAN night. It picked up FAQs, then the links everyone kept asking for, and eventually that Gamer Garage page outgrew the garage and became Zemew.com for everyone to use and enjoy.

The home WiFi password did not make the move. If you're here hoping to join my network from the internet, bless your heart, not happening.

How to contact

We do not run a public inbox or support ticket queue for Zemew.com. If you want to reach us, the forum is the place to do it.

Use zemewforum.com for questions, feedback, event suggestions, resource ideas, or anything else about the site. Post in the open sections, reply to existing threads, or start a new topic. That is where the community and the people behind Zemew actually talk.

As this site grows and, if it ever brings in some income, we plan to set up a more anonymous email inbox and make it available here. For now, the forum is the channel.

On the horizon

Looking ahead

  1. Zemew LAN

We are working toward Zemew LAN, a future charity LAN festival project funded as the rest of the network grows. Merch sales through the shop help support the broader effort.

  2. Zemew Hosting

Simple, professionally designed one-page sites for companies that want to talk to a person, not fight a support portal.

  3. Original articles

More Zemew-written articles, separate from the RSS-fed news on the Wire, with their own free RSS feed. We already have our own Guides, like the Garage LAN blueprint, and we plan to keep adding more guides and original articles over time.

  4. More original content

This has been a fun page with tons of possibilities for expansion. We also plan to register Zemew as an actual business and keep building original content that parallels much of what started in the Gamer Garage.

    • Key parts of a PC
    • How to build a PC, with extra tips and tricks
    • Hardware reviews
    • A suggested build for a long-lasting new gamer PC
    • How to set up your own server

Integrating YouTube recordings into Guides and Zemew's own articles should be a great addition to the site.
