Host an event
You can host in a rec room, community space, or rented hall. Post the night on Member Events. List a city or region publicly, and share the full address only with people you expect to attend. RSVP means someone is interested. It is not a ticket and not a headcount you must honor.
These nights are not limited to PCs. Consoles, handhelds, board games, card games, and mixed tables all count. Say on the poster what you can support so people know what to bring. Free play works best. Let people run what they already want to play. Talk in the room, then pick a game worth gathering around: a match, a tournament, or co-op. Locking the whole night to one title on the poster usually costs you seats.
- Publish venue details. Put the city or region on the poster. Send the street address privately to guests you expect.
- Post a schedule. Include doors, play hours, quiet hours, and when people should pack up.
- Plan food, drinks, and breaks. Say whether you are providing food, guests should bring their own, or you will order in. Keep drinks away from hardware. Plan meal or stretch breaks so people leave their seats. The Garage LAN guide has more on drinks, lighting, and breaks.
- Define rules. Post house rules, game rules, and what gets someone asked to leave.
- Share how to reach you. Discord, a profile message, or another contact path works. Make it easy to reach you before and during the night.
- Explain power and network limits. Post your circuit capacity, seat count, and whether you have a switch. Say what you can support. For circuit math, seating layouts, and network setup, see the Garage LAN guide.
