Host a LAN

Start with the Garage LAN guide. It is what worked in a real two-car garage, from power and tables to food, drinks, and breaks.

A garage, a rec room, or a rented hall can work. If you can host a night, post it. Keep the public location to a city or region, and treat RSVP as interest, not a headcount you have to honor like tickets.

These nights are not limited to computers. Consoles, handhelds, board games, card games, and mixed tables all count. Say on the poster what you can support, so people know what to bring.

The best LAN is usually free play. Everyone runs what they already want to play. Use the room to talk, then pick a game worth gathering for once people are actually there: a match, a tournament, or a co-op night. Forced one-game schedules empty seats.

1. Publish venue details. City or region on the poster. Share the street address privately with people you actually expect.
2. Post a schedule. Doors, play windows, quiet hours, and when people should pack up.
3. Plan food, drinks, and breaks. Say whether you are providing food, people should bring their own, or you will order in. Keep drinks away from hardware. Build in meal or stretch breaks so people actually leave their seats. The Garage LAN guide covers drinks, lighting, and why those breaks matter.
4. Define rules. House rules, game rules, and what gets someone asked to leave.
5. Give a contact path. Discord, a profile message, or another way to reach you before and during the night.
