What is a LAN?
A LAN party is an in-person event where people bring computers or consoles onto one local network and play together in the same room. The “LAN” is the network; the party is the night. The strongest nights start as free play, then people agree on a game to run as an event or a group.
Should we lock the night to one game?
Usually no. Let people play what they want, then talk. If a title has enough interest, gather a group or run that as a set match. One mandatory game on the poster is how you lose half the room.
Do I need to bring my own PC?
On Zemew listings, assume yes unless the poster says otherwise. These are member-hosted BYO nights, not internet cafes.
Can I bring a console?
Often, if the host has room and you bring a display. Ask on the poster or message the host before you show up with a dock and a 65-inch plan.
Do I need an Ethernet cable?
Yes. Bring a long one. Hosts should not have to outfit every seat, and Wi-Fi is a backup at best.
Are speakers allowed?
Use headphones. Speakers turn one game into everyone else’s soundtrack. If a host wants a shared PA, they will say so.
Is Zemew hosting these events?
No. Zemew is a listing platform. We do not host, sponsor, or operate these nights, and we do not take liability for them. The host on the poster and / or on their profile, is responsible.
How do I post a LAN?
Sign in with your Zemew account and use Post a LAN. Profile posting is on by default. Listing it on this board is optional and needs a verified email. Keep the public location to a city or region, and use RSVP as interest, not tickets.
